FAD (film-art-dance) Festival is a brand new event showcasing the best of local, national, and international dance and movement-based short films. Films will be screened at The Cary Theater, a recently renovated historic movie theater in the quaint downtown of Cary, North Carolina. The FAD Festival is co-sponsored by Code f.a.d. Company and the Town of Cary.
Awards given for Curators’ Pick, Audience Favorite, Best Student Film, and other unique “bests” in categories to be determined based on the scope of submitted films. Every film selected for screening wins an award!
FAD Festival invites all films with a strong connection to dance and movement to apply. Documentaries, narratives, music videos, experimental works, and films of all genres are welcome, as long as movement is an integral component of the film. Films may be up to 30 minutes in length; however, films of 5 minutes or less may have a greater chance of being selected for screening. Established, emerging, and student artists are all encouraged to submit their films!
