School Programs

Code f.a.d. Company offers a variety of K-12 educational programs, all of which can be tailored to the specific needs of your school or community program.

Code f.a.d. Company (where f.a.d. is an acronym for film, art, dance) is a group of professional artists committed to combining film, visual arts, and dance for performances and exhibitions. The company specializes in dance and movement-based work, led by artistic director and choreographer Autumn Mist Belk, who also serves as the assistant director of the dance program at NC State University. Central to Code f.a.d. Company’s purpose is its mission to educate youth and the greater community through performances and workshops in schools, community centers, and festivals. Programs can be tailored to suit each individual school’s needs; presenters are encouraged to contact the company to discuss ideas.

Performances & Lectures
One-hour lecture/demonstrations typically include 3-4 dancers, two or three 10-20 minute dance works, and discussion. Ninety-minute to two-hour performances include the entire company and can incorporate video projection elements. Shows can be either formal or informal, and can feature discussion between dances, or before or after the show. Fee: $1,500-$4,500 for formal concerts; $600-$1,500 for lecture/demonstrations.Discounted booking rates are available for multiple activities on the same day.

Master Classes
Master classes taught by professional teaching artists are offered in improvisation, modern dance, and acrobatics. Fee: $100-150 per class.

Residencies
Specialized workshops and in-school dance residencies are custom-designed through planning with teachers, based on learning goals and objectives, and often include activity guides and other teaching tools developed by the company. Programs are offered to elementary, middle, and high school students and can culminate with a final student performance (for residencies including at least five class sessions). Please call to discuss fees based on the length and scope of your residency.

All of the above fees include local travel costs. For programs outside the Triangle area, schools will be charged additional fees to cover associated travel and lodging costs. Please contact the company to discuss these costs.
